IAUJC Working Against Antisemitism
IAUJC has created an antisemitism task force to address the growing number of antisemitic incidents that have occurred in Ithaca since October 7, 2023.
The task force is combatting antisemitism through education, coalition building and monitoring incidents of hatred against Jewish people and Israel in our community.
On May 5, 2025, the task force held a panel discussion about antisemitism in Ithaca that drew people from across the community to the event held at the First Congregational Church of Ithaca. The panelists were: Rabbi Caleb Brommer of Temple Beth-El, Rev. David Kaden of the First Congregational Church, and Menaham Rosensaft, adjunct professor of law at Cornell and general counsel emeritus of the World Jewish Congress.
The work of the task force was featured in a front-page article in The Ithaca Journal.
If you want to report an antisemitic experience with a support member of the community, please contact IAUJC to learn about your rights and how you can report an incident to the police or the New York State Division of Human Rights.
