Almog Behar was born in Netanya in 1978. He is a poet, novelist, translator, researcher and scholar. Behar lives in Jerusalem and teaches in the Department of Literature at Tel-Aviv University about the connections between Hebrew and Arab literatures, the connections between the Jewish Liturgical poetry traditions (Piyyut) and Modern Mizrahi literature, Jewish writing in Judeo-Arabic and literary Arabic, and the way Jewish writers negotiate with Islamic traditions.
